Yet Again!

It seems that today is M. Paul Gauguin’s 1848 birthday, Again! This is happening all the time, as far as Your Inner Rhino can tell. We celebrate this exceptional painter’s work, and before We know it, We have to do an encore salute.

It seems suspicious that one fellow can have so many birthdays, but We are told it is true. It is probably linked to Mathematics somehow.

One fine day We Rhinos may understand the calendar, but that fine day is taking its fine time arriving.

Then the Lights Went Out

In 731 BC, the first Solar Eclipse was recorded in China. Obviously, it wasn’t the first Eclipse ever, but it must have created quite a stir at the time. Lots of hopping up and down.

Eclipses happen all the time, of one sort or another. So frequent are they that Rhinos don’t fuss. Something gets in the way of something else, and then it’s over. Press on.

What will the End of the World look like? Who can say?

Fruity Inspirations

As you probably know, the Pineapple is native to South America. Rhinos are not native to S.A., but that does not squelch our enthusiasm for them. Pineapples have a haunting scent, and have been the inspiration for many instances of spontaneous choreography.

Appreciation takes many forms, the Rhino Pineapple Dance being only one of them.

A reminder: the Hummingbird is how Pineapples are pollinated in their Natural Setting.

R Warning System

We critters in the Wild are Quiet. We don’t clutter the airwaves with chatter. We Rhinos are each tending to our own affairs, most of them chewable. Placid.

However, when We need to send bulletins, We have a range of techniques. Our energies focus, our parts go on alert. Our entire Body Language informs our stance, our scent, our orientation. Other critters, at least the smart ones, get out of the way. We become the Body Electric.

We signal our intentions. We communicate by Image. Those that live near Us in the Wild get the message, Loud and Clear.

The Social Graces

Rhinos sometimes wonder why We are seldom presented as Cultured. What do We lack?

We have concluded that Rhinos are too straight-forward and unapologetic. We don’t intend to be difficult, but why disguise our goals with convoluted Decorum? Why not just attend to ourselves, and let it go at that? We don’t intend to please or displease any critter: sounds pretty Elegant to Us.

When We err, We try to improve. In conclusion, Rhinos have Good Enough Behavior.
