Today, being March 31, We Rhinos bid adieu to this month, and welcome the next. BaaaaaaaBye, We say.
We don’t think of these transitions as a Loss. We liked March all right, but have to acknowledge that April has potential. We like to be upbeat.
Natural Curiosity is getting the better of Us.
Tooting our own Horn (tired Rhino joke) seems permissible now and again, right? “Your Inner Rhino” happily announces our 2,000th Post!!
Since October 20, 2014 We have achieved over 100% delivery, even given some vacations and the occasional lapse.
Of course, there’s no group as stupendous as our Readers, and We thank you for your encouragement. Sincerely.
Plants play by a set of rules We Rhinos only imperfectly grasp. They seem to always agree with one another, at least as We understand things.
Plants are aggressive, certainly. Always on the move, cycling their capacities on some regular, inexplicable course, doing their thing. Give them an opportunity, and they are all over it, literally.
The good news is that they move slowly as a general rule. At least slower than We do, which is our main concern.
Rhinos can mostly tell when We are dreaming, primarily because things smell different, less subtle but riveting over there. And there is almost always surprising food in dreams; that’s how they serve it up.
Is it any wonder We look forward to catching a few winks?
No, it is not any wonder at all.

Sisyphus was an ancient Greek ruler who was just too slick for his own good. Eventually, Zeus condemned him to roll a rock up a hill for Eternity, the joke being that when the rock got near the top, it would roll back down, and the chore would be renewed. Forever.
Eternity is a long time, that’s what We Rhinos know. And We Rhinos have only been around for 50 million years.
The other lesson: If you must be irritating, keep a close eye on your audience.
Rhinos are not troubled by their wardrobes, not having any. But any outfit We fancy, We just imagine it, and Voila!, Snappy!
Sort of an enviable position to be in, n’est-ce pas? Assuming you are not burdened with questions of Taste.
We Rhinos aren’t.

Ah, the old question, the Observer and the Observed, to Be or not to Be, on Wednesdays keep your nose clean, etc.
What We Rhinos find is that the curse of the Gallery is Expectation, the idea that a thing must have meaning, one We are comfortable with. Thus the Gallery Expedition is a confirmation, not a reevaluation or exposition. Comfortable but not Stimulating.
The same curse is potent when dealing with friends, foes, and circumstances. Rhinos Beware.
None of the Staff at ‘Your Inner Rhino‘ could recall the word “petrichor” when asked. After a little scrambling, We came up with the definition, and a delightful one it is.
Petrichor refers to the scent released when a first rain lands on stone or soil, the rich bouquet when the waters get delivered.
While We all appreciate the word, Rhinos marvel at the phenomenon.
Your Inner Rhino
