Unrefined Arts

M. Georges Rouault was a French painter, born in 1871. He was apprenticed to a curator of stained glass, and the influence of that period in his life is reflected in his long career. Very individualistic. Very Rhino.

M. Rouault is associated with Fauvism and Expressionism, but We are not sure how that changes his paintings. Words. Names. Anyway, Rhinos like his work; We don’t call it anything.

He seems to have minded his own business much of the time. Again, very Rhino.

Pillow Talk

Rhinos sleep, doze, daydream, and space out, in rough rotation night and day. We wink and We’re there. We snort and We’re back. A finely tuned system.

We are not house-proud critters, not having houses, but We occasionally wonder who housekeeps in Dreamland? It’s usually shipshape when We drop in.

Rhinos ask because We often leave Dreamland in a Shambles. Who does the clean-up?

If YIR doesn’t pose the tough questions, who’s going to do it?

Raspberries

5-2 Herbs 2039

June 10 is National Herb & Spice Day, which We Rhinos welcome. We are always on the lookout for plant developments, and Nature provides plenty to hold our attention.

Herbs and spices come into play in many areas of interest, being ornamental, aromatic, tasty, and medicinal.

This year, the Herbalisti have decided to put a spotlight onto Brambles, which produce delicious berries. Rhinos like berries. Ask any of Us.

Perseptivity

RhinoReminder: what We see is a result of where We are when We make an Observation. If We are on this side of the shrub, it is different than from the other. Naturally.

So We can seldom be certain We have all the facts. Actually, We can bet We don’t have all the facts.

So Rhinos can observe from all sorts of angles, but We might postpone coming to a Conclusion. For Everyone’s sake.

Audiology 2020

We Rhinos have remarkable Hearing, almost as refined as our sense of Smell. We are always tuned in to both skills, as life in the Wild demands Vigilance.

But that set of abilities has limits; to date, We cannot hear either Yesterday or Tomorrow, no matter how scientific or  elaborate our systems may be.

Probably right Now is what Rhinos should attend to. Yesterday is gone, and Tomorrow is anybody’s guess.

Oh My

Rhinos cannot recall a time when “Uh-Oh” wasn’t useful in the face of adversity. Things happen. And there has to be some outlet for the tensions that arise for one and all.

“Uh-Oh” fills the bill, often.

Rhinos use it all the time, possibly because Rhinos are not perfect, despite appearances.
