Light Feet and Rhythm

Today is International Dance Day, celebrating Cultural Sharing and Appreciation, which sounds like a good thing.

We Rhinos had assumed it meant the space between two or more Nations. We have to report that dancing down those fine lines seems impracticable. You’re in Nation A or Nation B, almost anywhere you go. No in-betweens.

Since Rhinos don’t understand these border distinctions, We just dance around, anywhere. And a good time is had by all. When asked to go elsewhere, We do, with cha-cha feet.

Patience

Rhinos are glad that circumstances seldom demand Patience from Us. We are more the go-for-it-with-gusto sort of critter. Go and go some more.

But there are times when Rhinos must bide our time, hold on until things sort themselves out. Rhinos do the right thing.

Well, that’s what being Responsible Critters requires of Us.

Perseptivity

RhinoReminder: what We see is a result of where We are when We make an Observation. If We are on this side of the shrub, it is different than from the other. Naturally.

So We can seldom be certain We have all the facts. Actually, We can bet We don’t have all the facts.

So Rhinos can observe from all sorts of angles, but We might postpone coming to a Conclusion. For Everyone’s sake.

Special Guidance

Rhinos are lucky in our Ancestry, 50 million years of it. That is because Rhino Ancestors do not relate to an Earthly Time Continuum. Our Ancestors can appreciate the Future as well as the Past.

That does not mean the Ancestors bother with details. The Ancestors are here to help Us to be true to our RhinoHeart. Guidance and Influence. Also encouragement.

The Intensity of our Rhino Mission does not change with something as minor as Time.

Noteworthy

Shown here is a tiny part of Sr. Gioachino Rossini’s “William Tell Overture”. It is an extensive piece of music, made of a great many notes, played by a great many musicians.

Sometimes Smelling seems to be reduced to a snort, a snappy reduction of Experience. But Real Delectation of Scent is a romance between the Nostril and thousands of component wafts, each open to interpretation, each worthy of singular appreciation, each expressing its own source. Each contributing Whiff is comparable to a note in a grand piece of music.

Art is in the air.

2

2 is the number between 1 and 3. It is also where most Rhinos would calibrate their state of mind, in general. Neither comatose  nor hyper-driven. Cruise control.

We mention this in relation to “Going Crazy”. For Rhinos, the odds are just as good of “Going Sane”. Since neither alternative occurs that often, We don’t spend a lot of time evaluating. We Cruise.

Somewhere between Neutral and Natural.

The Big Picture

Rhinos sometimes debate the issue of Purpose. What’s my purpose versus your purpose? Which of Us matters more than another? Do Rhinos matter more than jellyfish or yaks or chickadees? Or more than rocks or asparagus?

The answer is obviously stupid. Every bug or raindrop is essential to the Whole. And when it comes to that scale of comprehension, We are each at Nature’s disposal.

Sometimes a Rhino goes rogue, declaring its superiority, and the Universe can just shut up and bow down. This is when We know that Nature, and all the rest of Us, can roll our eyes. The idea is gibberish.
