Nuthin’ Like It!

When deciding to get a grip on Reality, there is no better place to focus on then “Here”. Obviously.

That’s because anywhere else, or anywhen else, or even anyone else would have a different point of view, a different take on what was what… and where it was doing that ‘what’.

No, Rhinos are more content with Here. and Now. And frankly, it takes all the wits We have to absorb This!

The Power of Suggestion

The Can-Can (see Oct. 21, below) was hot stuff in its day, but in time gave way to the Hootchy-Kootchy, a dance based loosely on the Belly Dance of Egypt and Arabia. Unlike the athleticism of the Can-Can, the Hootchy-Kootchy emphasizes the Gyrations of the hips and spine in such a way as to Inspire the Viewer.

The Hoothchy-Kootchiste, usually a soloist, Undulates, Wriggles and Jiggles to Sinuous Music. Everyone has a Good Time. Interestingly, much modern/social dance reflects influences of the Hootchy-Kootchy, though it seldom gets the credit it deserves.

However for Rhinos, We achieve the same hypnotic Fascination via Scent. And a Very Dynamic Effect it renders on our behalf. No joke.

Taking our Temperature

There seem to be two popular ways for knowing how hot things are. They are called Centigrade and Fahrenheit. Depending on where you are or who you’re with, or who made the thermometer, you get different readings.

Rhinos are generally content with “Sizzling, isn’t it?”, “Could it get hotter, I ask you?”, and “Is there enough glare to suit you?”. None of these is memorable, but they cover our needs.

Warm’s warm, etc. Yes? Take a sniff or peer around; it’ll come to you.

First Impressions

Rhinos seem to get more than our fair share of Brilliant Ideas; it’s just a Natural Fact. Sometimes once a week, sometimes every two minutes; it’s an unpredictable business, these flashes of RhinoGenius.

What’s intriguing is where these ideas reside before We get them. We are simply attending to our business when, WHAM!, We get an Insight. Out of the blue.

Very stimulating, being Us.

Going Up… or Down

Sometimes Nature makes a shift, raising one flat place above another. The resulting wall separating those fields is called an Escarpment, geologically speaking.

Rhinos seldom scale these Escarpments, lacking both the Equipment and the Skill. When you are Big, you don’t want to do a lot of falling down.

Being incapable ourselves doesn’t mean We can’t appreciate it.
