Looking before you…
There is some debate among Rhinos about where Bad Decisions originate. Are We momentarily overcome by stupidity, inexperience, or bravado?
The performance might be seen as a ‘learning opportunity’ if the Bad Decision allows for a replay. In the Wild, often they do not.
Bad Decisions are not the same thing as Accidents. Bad Decisions require a dedicated Decider.
That delicate balance
One of the benefits of living in the Wild, as We Rhinos do, is that nobody gets agitated when We act Wild.
Blowing off steam is a Natural process, and nobody’s temperament is improved by unacknowledged stress.
Then it is time for a snack.
Flappering
Illinois was admitted to the Union on December 3, 1818. It is quite a state, and has been for 201 years, which is a manyness. Much agriculture and industry. Many busy folks.
Rhinos are rhythmic vertebrationally, and so We salute the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties, a period of much extremity and sass. Plus shimmying to hot music.
Who could ask for anything more?
Sweet memories
Rhinos are not particular about Time. We do our thing in the present, by and large. Then, when We doze, We check in on that lullaby clock. There Time behaves oddly, fiercely editing itself as it lurches along.
Rhinos can feel nostalgia for the future, no problem.
A-Musements
The Greek Muses are supposedly Supervisors of the Arts, a poetic and enchanting concept, We Rhinos think. We are all for Muses.
A slight difference is that We Rhinos feel sure that each and every Rhino ever has our own individual Muse. That Muse sees each Rhino’s true Nature. It is the abstract cousin of our childhood Invisible Friends, a companion to support our turns of mind. As time goes by, our internal Muse gradually makes itself better known.
Pretty sweet system.
Stroke of Luck
Rhinos know the exhilaration of finding something Happy just in our path. Serendipity.
Of course, the pot of gold idea is purely symbolic. What would Rhinos do with it?
The Rhino idea of a Bonanza is a radish or two. Radishes make Us chortle.
Shaken, not stirred
Confidence is a fine quality to have, probably. Rhinos are remarkably good at embodying and exuding Confidence. We practice.
Still, We are aware that when We mentally flip the switch to “Confidence”, We stop thinking; We are too busy holding firm to our Ideals, or policies, whatever. Holding the fort.
Confidence should come with a few words of warning attached. Experience can come into play; Confidence can be, or needs to be, shaken, right?
Get Happy
Rhinos do not always feel up-and-at’em and full of sarsaparilla. Occasionally, We feel a bit off-color, We admit it.
It is at these times We are glad that Rhinos are naturals at the Cakewalk. It is a dance that commands pizzazz and a lot of flashing teeth.
A few moments of the Cakewalk can put any Rhino back on track. Back in the pink, as it were.
Be it ever so humble…
Living on our own patches of the world, Rhinos are aware that not every other Critter envies Us Rhinos our Home Turf.
Still, it’s Home, and We each make the best of it. Usually happily.
Your Inner Rhino
