The Rational Rhino

Rhinos like to think of ourselves as insightful and alert, able to analyze things with the best of ’em.

After all, there is a Reason for everything. Things don’t just get out of hand for the heck of it. Rhinos are given our perceptions for the betterment of one and all.

That said, Rhino Experience has proven that though there may be a Reason for what happens, We Rhinos may never know what it is.

The Drawing Board

Long since, We Rhinos concluded that Nature had no intention whatever of Rhinos being Perfect. Consequently, We are appealingly slapdash.

And a good thing too. If Rhinos were all Perfect, there would be next-to-no way to tell one of Us from another.

By the present system, We get more varied approaches to the Matters at Hand. Which may account for something spectacular, at least We hope so.

Impressionisms

Each and every critter, especially Rhinos, has a Sphere of Influence, often many, referring to the individual impact one gifts to the Cosmos, whether asked to or not.

A Rhino’s importance is not only to itself and its family, but to its community, its biosphere, its species, its location, its place in the Grand Picture.

And what is relaxing about it all, is that no Rhino can calculate its affect for itself. So We can smile and cruise on, Naturally.

Less is often more…

Hippocrates of Kos (b. 460 bce) is widely acknowledged as the Father of Medicine. His ideas of how folk got sick, and what might help them out are still applauded and honored.

Rhinos are definitely pro-Hippocrates, as he saw the relationship between diet and health as important. Plus a little encouragement and patience.

Quote: The best remedy in many cases, is to do nothing.  That’s our kind of doctor. Of course, Rhinos don’t often have another option.

Playthings of Time

The Dodo was a large flightless relative of the pigeon, known only on Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Exposure to European sailors did them in, and in thirty years, Dodos were all gone. They were not stupid, they were trusting and curious.

Nature is always shifting things around, and in the shuffle, many species disappear. It is a Natural process, We think. Then everything gets recalibrated.

The Rhino Day will doubtless come. Or perhaps it’s here. The possibility exists for every species.
