With Tune or Without

Rhinos have no access to Medical Specialists, beyond our own Systems and Practices. One such system is Humming Therapy, whereby the head is cleared and the spirits lifted. We are not limited to humming only in the nasal region, but also the chest and ears. A few deep breaths, a concentrated clearing of the throat, or sometimes a sneeze, and We resonate.

Works like a charm. Ask anybody.

Audiology 2020

We Rhinos have remarkable Hearing, almost as refined as our sense of Smell. We are always tuned in to both skills, as life in the Wild demands Vigilance.

But that set of abilities has limits; to date, We cannot hear either Yesterday or Tomorrow, no matter how scientific or  elaborate our systems may be.

Probably right Now is what Rhinos should attend to. Yesterday is gone, and Tomorrow is anybody’s guess.

Coincidentally…

Today is National Healthcare Decisions Day (fact). The main idea is to get paperwork shipshape for “later”, when folks would want it. Rhinos do not have any paperwork, as our Readers doubtless know.

The idea of this holiday seemed to Us to be best expressed through making decisions Today about Today. The Healthcare in question being our own for ourselves today. Good advice, put into practice.

Seems obvious, right?

Going Up

Most critters have some sort of vocal range. Rhinos do too. Our ability to produce sound is related to what another Rhino can hear, obviously. (Rhinos do not sing to hyenas, right?)

For our Readers, high C is about it, so We are showing that as a communication device. Rhinos can squeak higher, but only under extreme duress. The Wild can provide that sort of duress, believe Us.

By the way, high notes take practice. Lots of it.

Noteworthy

Shown here is a tiny part of Sr. Gioachino Rossini’s “William Tell Overture”. It is an extensive piece of music, made of a great many notes, played by a great many musicians.

Sometimes Smelling seems to be reduced to a snort, a snappy reduction of Experience. But Real Delectation of Scent is a romance between the Nostril and thousands of component wafts, each open to interpretation, each worthy of singular appreciation, each expressing its own source. Each contributing Whiff is comparable to a note in a grand piece of music.

Art is in the air.
