Who Knew?
Today, in 1499, Sr. Vicente Yanez Pinzon, a Spanish adventurer, discovered Brazil. A few days later he landed at the red X. He also sailed a bit up the Amazon. A busy fellow.
However, due to prior treaties, he could not claim the land for Spain, so Portugal got it. Probably frustrating, but that was just too bad for everybody, except Portugal.
Rhinos wonder if the discovery of a strange Ship offshore was interpreted as a ‘Discovery’ by the Brazilians. It seems unlikely to Us that Discoveries should work only one way.
Wandering Wits
but not forgotten
Rhinos and other friends go away. How far away is variable. How long they stay away is up to them and their circumstances.
We Rhinos hold these absent friends dear to our hearts. We look forward to their return, but We don’t count on it. We wish them well.
We have no other option. But then, We don’t need one.

One Method, or another…
Today ‘Your Inner Rhino’ salutes Konstantin Stanislavski, b. 1863. He developed a style for the theatre , attempting a more naturalistic approach, especially to character. His influence dominates most acting today, both in stage and film work.
Stanislavski directed and acted with Russian authors, like Anton Chekhov and Maxim Gorky. He was also a founder of the Moscow Art Theatre.
Rhinos like acting, though it took Us quite a while to figure out what it is. We are not very good at pretense, among ourselves, or anywhere else, for that matter. Still, We are enthusiastic voyeurs.

Words to the Wise
All Wet
In 1766 Charles Macintosh was born in Scotland. He was a successful chemist and inventor, and in 1824 came up with a system for sealing rubber between 2 layers of fabric, making it waterproof. The fabric was used to make a range of coats and hats to protect people from the rain.
Rhinos always see this raincoat business as odd, since anybody could just go out naked. Nature has provided a waterproof skin already. Easy-peasy.
It’s sort of delightful how We can all can come up with Reasons for inexplicable decisions, right?
