One noteworthy feature of growing up is that We each reinvent the wheel. Not literally of course, since a wheel is a thing and Rhinos are not into thing-ness. Still, whatever the issue, each of Us feels sure that We see it in dazzling ways unforeseen by anybody else ever. Genius.
It’s part of finding out how breathtakingly remarkable our minds are. It’s part of waking up. It’s Big Fun.
Also, the process makes Us sassy, always a good thing.
Our subject today is Streams of Consciousness. This somewhat tortured illustration shows how it works, give or take. Sometimes We think our ideas come from Inside, sometimes Outside, and both ways We are right. The border line between Inside and Outside is blurry. Where do We leave off and the Rest of Everything commence?
We would like to point out that each of Us makes a contribution to the Outside, like it or not: things come down the Cosmic Streams of Consciousness, process themselves inside Us, and then, enhanced, go on their way. Given the preoccupations inside our heads a lot of the time, it might clarify why things are in such a bizarre state so often. Who can define an enhancement?
Are Rhinos the movers-and-shakers of the Butterfly Effect? Ponder that one, if you please.
There are many small irritations which We must endure in the Wild. For that reason We try to avoid periods of tempestuous emotion and aggrandized strife on a daily basis. Habitual resort to Frenzy easily leads to a life dedicated to Drama, which is generally unattractive. Good morning, I’m Onstage! Five minutes please, five minutes please.
We are not anti-silly; We just like our silly moments to be more unpredictable. Also, widely spaced can be more engaging than otherwise.
Observe the image: you see a fire hydrant, a post box, and a telephone pole, Right? Well actually, no, Wrong!
Millenia of application have made Rhinos into Master Mimics, able to capture the essence of many forms. We can ‘appear’ as a grand piano or a Rhododendron, whatever. How We do it has become innate, so We are unable to explain it for you, sad to say.
But you see how effective We are at it. We ourselves are astounded; what can your inner rhino not achieve?!

We are an on-the-go species, We Rhinos. We have been to a lot of places, done a lot of things when We got there, and then moved along yet again, sooner or later. Some excursions last a month, others last 4 million years. We are presently residing in Asia and Africa, but those locales are not of long standing really. In Africa We only got there 10 million years ago (who’s counting?), and then diversified, familial-wise, that is.
Wanderlust is a part of the package, but it is not a constant factor for each and every one of Us. For some of Us the Nomad Volume is cranked up high, for others it is just a background noise. Some family groups are home bodies, others just gotta get out of that place, if it’s the last thing they ever do, as it were.
No solution to location is superior to another. Whatever does the trick does the trick.
Val-de-Ri, Val-de-Rah, Val-de-Rah ha ha ha ha ha, etc.
We are not sure where many phenomena come from. How they happen, or why they occur is not knowable. We credit what We see, but the cause is often mysterious.
Rhinos are resigned to varying amounts of cloudiness on most issues. It seems silly to pretend We comprehend the Wild, right?
Or even comprehend ourselves. We just do the best We can.
For those of you who are intrigued by doughnuts, this is a reminder to get shopping early. There is likely to be a run on them, this being the first Friday in June. Remember to take napkins, in case.

Today marks the 200th Installment of Your Inner Rhino! We are feeling good and plenty about it.
On the same wavelength, Your Inner Rhino is into its 32nd week. When We were planning the blog, We were informed that 13 weeks was the usual lifespan of a blog, so We have passed that deadline, and to spare- times 2 plus.
It is true that We Rhinos are not reliable with counting; We had to be notified that this was a Special Event. But We are always ready for a party.
Confetti Time!
In broad terms, We are awake or asleep, generally, if you see what We mean. However, for Us, the dreaming mechanism never gets switched off; it’s running all the time, eyes open or closed. We pay more or less attention to the information it produces, but the system never shuts down.
We are not always sure exactly which incoming thought has meaning. Is the idea We are weighing new, or a dream, or a dream’s perspective on something new or old? Dreams are multifaceted and seductive, but nobody would suppose they are foolproof proof of anything. Often they involve a connect-the-dots element, relating one idea to another.
It would be nice if consciousness was more comforting, but it isn’t entirely. Leastwise, not ours.
Rhino or Reader, We each play with the cards We get dealt, any way you slice it. What other option is there, right?
That said, We find that the best idea is to make a house of cards, then stamp on the ground. Good fun. Go Boom. Assuming you have cards, which is more likely than We having cards.
