Seals of Approval

6-29 Binox

Rhinos are always on the lookout, seeking opportunities and lunch, plus anything else that seems to be of interest. One thing We don’t search for is other critters’ Good Opinion.

All critters have opinions. Fair enough. Why would We concern ourselves with what those opinions are? We might get a door prize or a nod of approval?

What We require is our own Good Opinion. We want to get along with our business, and leave others to do the same.

That is the Rhino Way.

Mud Pie!

6-28 MudDay

We want to remind YIR Readers to prepare for International Mud Day, which is actually tomorrow, the 29th. This celebration is relatively new, on an Official Level, but it has full Rhino support. It started in Nepal, where We are very active. (Call it a coincidence, if you can believe it.)

Mud is great for the skin and protects Us from both bugs and sun. Grand. Plus, the recipe is not complicated, which is a mercy: Water and dirt in whatever proportions suit you best. You mix them up and then enjoy the results. Or go find some all ready to go.

We are excited that this holiday is going Global. We are great proponents of skin care, given that it takes a lot of it to contain Us.

As you may have noticed.

Comfort Zones

6-26 Relaaax

Most critters have a range, a territory that’s familiar. They know where water is, food, convenient terrain, and where other critters are, friendly or otherwise. That’s all the comfort they expect, and that is mostly what gets delivered. Plus some weather.

Those of Us with an Inner Rhino approach these matters from a different angle. For Us, Comfort is a state of mind. We are at home wherever We are. We are here to participate. We enjoy ourselves, and trust We will bring pleasure to those that meet Us. We do not burden events with Expectations.

Perfectly and happily Natural. No wonder We feel comfy.

Stimulation in Sumatra

6-25 SRBrilliance
Most days Rhinos work with whatever is going on in our heads, making our way, nibbling and ruminating. But on rare and spectacular occasion, an Idea strikes us, a Perception or Whatever, that clarifies things in some ultra-dynamic way. It feels like being clocked with a skillet. Inspiring if a bit disorienting.

It happens, and naturally, We are grateful. Whether every critter is chosen for these insights, We cannot say. Rhinos are just pleased to be on the Delivery List. All families, all locales, We get these Messages.

What We do not know (one thing among many) is Where do these Ideas come from?! How do they locate Us, and send just the right Idea to the right customer? Is there some sort of place where Ideas develop themselves? We might like to take credit for our own mental acuity, but We can’t do it. Someplace, Ideas are brewing and enhancing themselves. Incubating.

But Where?

Home Truths

6-23CrossStitch

We had hoped to avoid this sort of post, but We at Your Inner Rhino have been persuaded that a ‘no-velvet-glove’ policy is necessary. You Readers must simply Face the Music.

Given superior Rhino experience and longevity, We have to occasionally cut across, and deliver the Nitty Gritty. Today is just a sample.

Enough said.

Keeping on Task

6-23 Org yin-yang

The Yin-Yang of Organization probably sounds like 1) Organized stuff and 2) others, Not So Organized. Understandable, if you assume it matters one way or the other.

What We figure is, everything We need to do had better get done, so the order doesn’t count for much. Better to just plow into the day, and take care of things as they pop up. They always do pop up, ask Anybody.

That is why our version of Organization doesn’t bother to put things onto the graphs and slots and boxes; We don’t trifle with particulars. We just press on, and attend to stuff as best We can.

What’s with those little arrows anyway, right? Chart, Schmart.

You are my Sunshine

6-21 Solstice

Today has already done 23 hours and some minutes, chugging along on the Summer Solstice. Sorry We are running a little behind here at YIR.

There is a Scientific explanation available, but We don’t really get it, so just go with Us here.

Yup, it’s the Summer Solstice, so every other day of the year is shorter, both coming and going. For some reason, doubtless a good one or two. It all has to do with daylight.

If you get this message late, well, think back a few days and ponder the mysteries of it all, of which there are bound to be some.

Better demi-late than never, right?
