Domesticity in the Wild

11-3DomesticiT

Rhinos neither dust nor scrub. Those activities are centered on Ownership, keeping things a certain way to maintain their value. Given that Rhinos own nothing, fussing around with polishing rags is busywork at best, and a grim sign of disorientation at worst.

We take things as We find them, and leave them the same way. Why take on the task of shifting dirt from one place to another?

The Wild is not there to be improved upon.

Time Demands

11-2 NewsCast
Here at Your Inner Rhino We have another project which has a claim on our energies. This might mean that fewer posts will be forthcoming. It’s tricky to predict the future, so nobody needs to go into withdrawal just yet. It’s like trying to read a message while it’s still inside the bottle. (There’s a simile to chew on.)

We just don’t know what’s going to happen. Let’s look at it all as ‘Exciting’. Why not?

Just sayin’… Hang in there.

Seasonings

11-1 Seasons

Naturally, it all depends on where We live in the World, just what the Seasons do to let Us know they are changing. The most conspicuous signals come from Plant Activity. Plants just know what to do and when. Plants know ahead of time. Then We critters find out.

It is a Marvel how plants can produce so much from water and a mineral or two. We couldn’t do it. Rhinos need veggies to make us big and strong. And intellectual, too.

No place like home

10-29 homesteadingToday’s Halloween solution is not to a State of Mind, but to a State itself. The pointer aims at Badlands National Park. Rhinos used to live there. There is still time to visit, if you like.

This area is just part of our old Rhino Stomping Grounds. The RFamily was a New World mega-influence Back When (which covers roughly 35 million years of development, they say. Rhinos certainly weren’t counting.)

You doubtless recall: Rhinos did much familial branching in North America. Then, 5 or 10 million years ago or so, the weather changed, and We folded our tents. We respond to the Call of the Wild. We are Nature’s playthings. And were then, too.

Rhino Finery: not only enchanting but educational. Amazing!

Exotica

10-28 CleoP

Today’s ensemble salutes Cleopatra, though We don’t actually remember her at all. Her daily doings simply did not overlap with Rhinodom. Doubtless a credit to her kin, dealing with the cards she was dealt. (Delta or DeNile humor to follow.)

Egypt was a Fashion Hub back when, and that’s what We are concentrating on. Lots of “hubba-hubba”.

The Crocodile is not real; they are uncooperative and they bite.
