By way of saying how grateful We are to all our Fine Readers who have taken the time to embrace Your Inner Rhino. We have been blogging for a smidge over 5 weeks, and things are going well. We just want you to be aware that your attentions are greatly appreciated.
We are pleased to observe that this is our 49th Post!
If there is one idea We dislike more than most others, it is the idea of creeping up and delighting yourself by taking Us unawares. Words fail Us in describing the Violence of our Natural Response. Our Every Nerve is instantly frazzled, and our Circuits detonate themselves. All our delicately modulated Inner Rhino goes into hyper-drive and We experience Hysterics. Please do not, at a later date, from a hospital bed, say nobody told you.
It might be great if We could fly, but flight involves natural equipment We don’t have. Fortunately birds are chatty on what they see and what fun it is. We take their word for it, and enjoy it by proxy, so to speak. What We lack in the wing department, We make up for with Rhino Imaginations. Flights of Fancy.
When We reach adolescence, We leave Mom and head out on our own. Most of Us go alone, embarking on The Quest. Quests are lifelong, and each of Us has an individual route to experiencing and expressing her or his Inner Rhino. Quests are not rigid; sometimes the original idea adjusts to incorporate unforeseen contingencies.
Each of Us reponds to RhinoHeart, which no Rhino would think to question. Our Quest is not a Duty but an Exhilarating Adventure.
Though physically alone, We are companioned by Guides, a set of spiritual qualities and kinds of awareness. Though they have no bodies, We think of Guides as having specific characteristics. Guides support our Goals, our Vision, of what We can contribute to Rhinodom.
Here you see a picture of Patience, a Guide whose counsel is not universally heeded. No Guide coerces, but offers opportunities and encouragement. Then forgiveness and perspective when We botch things up.
We see that you like your water all pure and crystalline and chilly. Not We Rhinos. We prefer it luke warm, and filled with bits of stuff- plant, animal, mineral, whatever’s around. It tastes a lot better, at least We thing so, more hefty. More like your idea of tea: Water with Personality. And the great part is it is never the same from slurp to slurp. Always a surprise. Life in the Wild has a lot to recommend it, that much is certain.
The numbers of Us Javan Rhinos are so few that We have trouble locating one another in the Wild. Our Wild is pretty jungly and convoluted. Determination is what is required under the circumstances, but that We have, a-plenty.
Time is not really constant, or not for Us anyway. Historically speaking, We know that some years have felt endless while others zoomed by. What applies to a year can work for an eon, right?
Obviously Time is entirely governed by Perception and Memory; it works like an accordion, stretching and compressing. So exactly “When” becomes pretty foggy, even when We’re discussing last week.
Thus RhinoLogic proves beyond all doubt that “When” may have already happened, or it may be coming over the horizon. It may even be coming over the same horizon- again.
Deep thoughts: Your Inner Rhino is on the job.
There is some territory between Dreaming and Imagination, though the borders are none too clear. We can go there (wherever that is) whenever We like. It’s a place where We can communicate with one another, though it doesn’t work like a telephone. It has more to do with Intuition, but it seems to be foolproof. And has worked for a Really Long Time. It isn’t a predictable business; We just flip that mental switch and Whoever tunes in, gets our attention. Somehow the right Rhino always gets the Right message; pretty Swell System.
This sort of smile makes Us look classy and classical, all at the same time.
One reason We keep our mouths shut when having a portrait done is that We don’t have front teeth, We family members in Africa. We don’t need front teeth for cropping grass and dealing with shrubs. We just have extra tricky lips…soft, supple, yet decisive.
Smile. You sort of got a free trip to the Louvre today.
Your Inner Rhino: lots to smile about!
We do not approve of bragging, per se. At the same time, We do not believe in denying our Capacities. It seems ungrateful and limiting to pretend to be less than We are. So We revel hourly, reflecting our delight in the gifts We have been granted. But We do it discretely… a balanced approach. Sometimes We just drift into a secluded spot (as shown) and roll around in madcap glee on our own behalf. Other times We smirk and look mysterious, and very pleased with ourselves.
