Today, in 1897, Mr. John Lee Love successfully got a patent on his new and improved pencil sharpener.
Rhinos do not sharpen pencils in any case, in Sumatra or anywhere else. Still, We didn’t want the day to slip past unacknowledged.

Chomping Season
Let’s be glad for the things We value, and patient with the things We cannot immediately fix.
Rhinos are not generally Patient Critters, so the YIR lecture on that topic must be postponed.
We try, when faking Patience, to say as little as possible. Everyone is fooled.
Getting Around
Rhinos used to be the GPS-ers of the high seas, aiding mariners on their exploits. We advised the Captain, who could then get the credit; We didn’t care about that.
Today Vasco Da Gama set off around the Cape of Good Hope, India-bound. True, We Rhinos saw ourselves more as Cruise Directors than anything else; We knew what was where already. Plus, We had Natural Resources at our disposal.
Sailors never noticed Us on deck. Seemed odd at the time, but maybe they were preoccupied with sailor stuff. You see what you expect.
First things First
Grass has everything to recommend it. Not only is it attractive; it comes in many flavors and varieties.
And best of all, it keeps Us Rhinos regular. What more could We ask?

Today seems like a day for pondering and mulling and considering different positions, without making any specific commitment.

Getting Around
Critters seem to be on the go hither and yon. Rhinos certainly are, in spirit at least. Over here just now, and then, there.
We try not to let it overwhelm Us.
After all, We are Vegetarians.
When is the Last Balloon?
Knowing when it is time to Depart is an art form which is sometimes neglected. Rhinos have a sixth sense though, and can pack at a moment’s notice.
We travel light. Owning nothing, We take nothing.
Well, We do take off.
