Squeezability

10-11-jg-rand

In 1841 John Goffe Rand patented the first collapsible tube, designed originally for oil paints, which did not store well when exposed to air. (Mr. Rand was a portrait painter.) Further uses have been found for his invention, as you doubtless know.

Acknowledgement never hurts, albeit in hindsight.

What’s Gnu?

Think of this as a Public Service Advisory: when out in the Wild, keep your eyes peeled for Wildebeests. They travel in huge gangs, thundering around. If somebody is in charge, you could fool Us. No harm intended, they just swarm in any old direction.

Trampling is a lot less fun than it may sound.

Upshot: Look Out!

Playing by the Book

9-11-rule-book

Rules and Regulations and Statutes and Policies. All Important and Crucial. Many and many more of these codes and dictates. Some agree with one another, others not. These Rules come in clusters from two to a zillion and two.

Since Rhinos don’t count beyond 3 with any assurance, most Rules must be overlooked. Also, We are seldom confident about which set of Rules to apply today. What happens when We get it wrong… or right? Rules seem deliberately perplexing.

Rhinos have few Rules of our own. So far, so good.

Rule Britannia

Queen Elizabeth I was born in 1533. She was popular, but prickly. She liked things her way, without sass of any kind. A Queen clearly in touch with her Inner Rhino.

We Rhinos are wired pretty much the same way, right?

Bess (as she was called by her best pals) also liked to gad about in plenty of finery. Rhinos do that too, albeit on a theoretical level.
