Gusto-ized

Rhinos have a built-in capacity for Euphoria that defies description. It just comes with the Natural Package. We do not control it, because… Well, why would We want to?

Some days are only a #1 on the Euphoria Scale, others are a #3. These vacillations are more or less meaningless; any way you look at it, We are of Good Cheer and excited by our Prospects. Dazzled by our Good Fortune.

Maybe other Critters have the same potential, but forget to notice it.

What Next?

Rhinos are renowned for our upbeat attitude toward most Situations. Our disposition is a Natural Gift, a Noteworthy Bonanza. Rhinos are a Happy Species; We carry our own Fizz.

Part of our mindset is that We do not Borrow Trouble. Rhinos do not cherish Unhappiness or Doubts. We chug along, making the Best of Whatever Comes Our Way.

No system is foolproof, but ours seems to function well for Us. Most of the time.

In Storage

Rhinos are bombarded with so many intriguing Notions, Ideas, Impressions and Associations that We can’t help wondering where this Mind Fodder hides out, before it gets to Us. Is there an Idea Centrale? Who is in charge? Who decides which Rhino gets which stimulating Awareness?

Unfortunately for this discussion, Rhinos are dealing with a new concept each (or almost each) moment, day and night.

Consequently, We are more adept at Ponderings than Conclusions.

Furthermore

Admittedly, Rhinos have a reputation for Opinions and Policies and Philosophies. This tendency just seems to come with the territory; our experiences translate themselves into Gems of Insight. Gems which need to be shared.

What We sometimes forget is that nobody else much cares what We say. Or what We assume We intend. If they learn anything, they learn it by seeing Us in action.

Perplexing how often the Words and the Performance do not align.

99% Serene

Being Large Critters, Rhinos need to conserve our energies, just to keep the System up and running. We can’t fritter ourselves away, just on a whim.

That is why We think of ourselves as generally Placid and Even-Tempered, almost to a fault. We are contemplative. We eat, We snooze, We socialize in modest ways, We mind our business. Self-possessed… almost all the time.

Still, there is that 1% window…

A Lasting Impression

Merlin is one of those figures who shows up from time to time, without much Explanation. There are many versions of his history and activities, but Rhinos are mostly interested in what makes him such a dynamic presence in our shared consciousness.

Perhaps We like the idea of a king-maker (Arthur), or a fellow who can change Realities. Or maybe it’s his Wisdom and gifts of insight. Or perhaps he could make something out of nothing; now that’s a skill set.

Intriguing how Rhino Minds work.

Beyond Us

Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote and illustrated ‘The Little Prince‘ in 1943. A quote from it: “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”

It is a tender and poetic story, impossible to describe. It is hard for Us to believe it was not written by a Rhino, but We are assured it wasn’t.

Touching, and just a bit disturbing.
