Tennessee was admitted to the Union on June 1, 1796. It was the 16th State.
Rhinos are not alone in appreciating Mr. Elvis Presley, ‘The King of Rock and Roll’, who lived near Memphis, Tennessee. That is where his home, Graceland, can be visited, if you’re in the neighborhood.
Rhinos like impersonating famous folk, just for fun. We are seldom mistaken for the original, We admit it. Every member of every species is, after all, Unique.
There is a song which addresses ways to get to Scotland, either the High Road or the Low Road. Scotland is well worth the visit, but Rhinos seldom make elaborate travel schemes.
We like the Trip itself, which may or may not deliver Us to a destination. Lots to see, many critters to chat up. Sooner or later, so what?

‘Your Inner Rhino’ regrets to inform our Valued Readership that Montana was admitted to the Union on November 8, 1889. We blush, but please hold the following Post (Big Sky Country) to review, once November 8 comes around again.

Montana was admitted to the Union on May 29, 1848 (same as Rhode Island, though a different year.) It’s a great big plot of land, including a lot of Rockies, with many features and residents of interest.
The ‘X’ marks the Badlands, where there used to be a lot of Dinosaurs living. We know this because there are a bunch of bones to testify. Looking into this is called Paleontology, or something very close to that.
In case you noticed similarities, Rhinos are not related to Triceratops; by the time Rhinos came along, the Dinosaurs were all gone. But even We can’t help wondering, one way and another.
Rhode Island was the last State to ratify the US Constitution (1790). That said, it was the first colony to break the bond with Great Britain. Whys and Wherefores, who can understand ’em?
Rhode Island has much to recommend it, but a big feature is the lengthy shore line, given that Rhode Island is the smallest State. Also, there are many Harbor Seals and Rhode Island Red Chickens, if you are seeking them out.
Rhinos fit in well in Rhode Island, because there are so many citizens; it’s hard to notice Us, coming and going. We fit in, Naturally.
All right, Fashion Victims. It is time to crack out all those White Garments that were taboo until now.
You only have until Labor Day, so wear them, and wear them out.

The Carolinas were claimed by King Charles the 1st of England in 1629, and named in honor of him (which you would grasp better if you know Latin, where they called people named Charles, ‘Carolus’.)
More to the point, on this day in 1788, South Caroline ratified the Constitution, making it the 8th of the United States. Congratulations to them and Us as well.
The state amphibian is the Spotted Salamander. They live all over, because there is a lot of water to enjoy in South Carolina. Also, lots of shoreline.
Today We Rhinos hail the State of Minnesota, admitted May 11, 1858. It has a lot to recommend it in many directions.
What We like best is that it is called the Land of a Zillion Lakes, or something along those lines. Water, water everywhere, and what could be nicer?
Nature makes no better treat than Water. Ask anybody.
Happy Mother’s Day, all you Mothers out there. Here at YourInnerRhino, We decided to deal from the top of the deck with our Readers: for Us, Motherhood is mostly characterized by Astonishment. For some critters, it may be simplicity itself, but for Us, it’s all about trying to assess whatever is happening and not getting swamped.
Part of our problem may be the Rhino Pregnancies last about 15 months. By the time the Tot appears, We have forgotten We are ‘expecting’, except all of a sudden, here is a 75-100 pound Assignment! And it just rattles on along those tracks for a few years. It’s catch-up. And then the Tot is grown, and is off on its own Quest. B-Bye.
And then We do it all over again. As We say, Bewildering. Happy, but Bewildering.
