This Porridge is Just Right!

Goldilocks is a lucky girl. When the Three Bears discovered she had gobbled up their breakfast, they might have gobbled her up instead. But Folk Tales are peculiarly kind with the young in ways that Nature seldom is in the Wild.

What We Rhinos also notice in this story is the emphasis on Goldilocks’ contentment; things must comply with her desires to make the grade. Entitlement apparently has to start somewhere… “Just Right” indeed!

In the Wild, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ is told from quite a different angle, you may believe.

The Full Moon is tonight. Rhinos have always assumed that the Moon is full of affectionate thoughts which shower down on Earth. By night. The Sun works the day shift.

Rhinos welcome sweet sentiments from each and every source. Not just today, but hourly.

The whole business is awash in poetry, and makes Us merry.

 

A Life of Service

Ms. Juliette Gordon Low (b. Oct.31, 1860) founded what was to be the Girl Scouts, starting in 1912. Her goal was to foster independence, physical health, and unity and friendship among young women. Your Inner Rhino applauds her aims and efforts.

Young Rhino gals are always in troops of one, with Mom as troop leader. The goals of this training are remarkably similar to Ms. Low’s.

Need We point out that ‘Inner Rhino’ is not a modern invention?

Today is National Candy Corn Day. Candy Corn was “created” by Mr. George Renninger of the Wunderle Candy Company in the 1880s. Like it or not, everybody knows what it is.

The illustration does not truly represent the confectioner’s art; it is more in the spirit of the Halloween season.

Trying to read between the Lines of Experience seems pointless. Maybe there is Nothing between the lines to read.  Yes, no, maybe, sometimes?

Happily, Rhino lack of Comprehension doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference. It may be that Rhinos are not meant to grasp each detail, or indeed, any detail. Not fully at any rate.

As We may have mentioned, organized sports often have more than 3 rules. But on friendly advice, We feel that mentioning Your Inner Rhino‘s Batting Average (related to Baseball) might help Us feel smug, which is always pleasant.

In the 1096 days We have been publishing, We have had 1092 fresh postings; thus, our Batting Average is 996. The computation was explained, but We got confused and took a second brunch break.

Baseballicly, a single is as good as a home run for these statistics, which is helpful. Even at Your Inner Rhino, We can’t win ’em all.

Moonlightless

Hypnoceros

Hypnotism is an Ancient Art; Rhinos are adept at it, and have been for about 3 zillion years (however long that is). We do not practice it on others, but are good at going into a Subliminal State at the drop of a leaf. All on our own.

We don’t actually dress up for these occasions, owning nothing to put on. But Rhinos certainly understand Showmanship, so We take these opportunities to impress ourselves.
