Now and then Rhinos are simply knocked sideways by Affection. Something sets Us off, and We appreciate the critters around Us, Rhino or not, here or there or now or then.
And in those moments, We realize We could have been feeling that way all along.
Marvelous.
Popular impressions to the contrary, not every day is completely Rhino-Friendly.
We grimly try to reconfigure these experiences into Learning Opportunities, and occasionally We manage some satisfaction via realigned perceptions.
But not always.
A feature of Rhino Awareness is the realization that We are eternally in between- not here, nor there, even if it’s only rolling over in bed. We were this way, and We are almost that way, but no matter what, another way is on its way anyway.
So even when We are coming, We are also leaving our prior locale or position or condition.
So Progression is also Retrogression or something. Digression perhaps?
Rhino girls often get confused by Ms. Alcott’s books, because We are raised for rough-and-tumble encounters with Life. Apparently, this was not the case for Ms. Alcott’s audience. The Readership probably sees what adjustments Ms. Alcott was suggesting, the get-up-and-go approach.
In the Wild, gender plays a lesser day-to-day part; it’s every critter for him or herself, take it or leave it.
On that gender thing, please recall that every wild Rhino is raised by Mom. No exceptions.

Today William Blake was born in 1757. He was a gifted poet, artist, mystic and visionary, and an early influence on the Romantic Movement.
Mr. Blake’s quote, which Rhinos all like, is: “You never know what is enough unless you know what is more than enough.”
We had always thought that “enough is enough” took care of the matter, but apparently not. Rhinos live to learn.
Critters seem to be on the go hither and yon. Rhinos certainly are, in spirit at least. Over here just now, and then, there.
We try not to let it overwhelm Us.
After all, We are Vegetarians.
Knowing when it is time to Depart is an art form which is sometimes neglected. Rhinos have a sixth sense though, and can pack at a moment’s notice.
We travel light. Owning nothing, We take nothing.
Well, We do take off.
Wickedness is all very well, but nobody’s mood is lightened when the Support Team is unruly and noisy. It’s just a Fact of Life. Wicked becomes wicked-er.
Pros and cons. That’s just How It Is.

Even when Life has delivered a body blow, We Rhinos must pull ourselves together and proceed. We get a few days to rearrange our mental furniture, then We suit up.
We may not feel Super, but We stand tall and fake it. With some luck, We are fooled ourselves, which is helpful.
If that doesn’t work, We try again Tomorrow. Gives Us something to look forward to.
When We have been left in the rain to rust, or suffer from other total numbness, it’s good to know there may be a remedy. We may not know what it is, but somebody else may.
In Surprising Times, Rhinos have to have faith that more often than not, things do work out.
Happily, Rhinos are Stalwart! Naturally.
