There is a first time for everything. The more difficult the assignment seems, the less prepared any Rhino will feel.
But one day, with luck, it’s time for the big Ally-Oop, like it or not.
Stories are involving, because when Rhinos encounter Stories, they transport Us to a place where We are not in fact. Indeed, We can transport ourselves with our own imagined doings, our history, our aspirations.
While We follow these fantasy stories, We are There, not Here; We are involved Elsewhere.
The question is: is that a Good Thing or a not-so-Good Thing for critters in the Wild.
Rhinos worldwide are happy to have this annual celebration, so We thank you for your kind consideration.
As you may know, Rhinos are great World Citizens, and have traveled extensively as a species. If you can go there, We’ve gone. Not that We lived Everywhere, but still, a visit is a learning opportunity. Our cup of tea.
Sadly, our thinning numbers make travel less advisable today than in the past. We do not despair; it’s not the Rhino Way.
There is that exquisite moment when Rhinos embark on an interaction, when We can’t be sure what’s going to happen, for better or worse. Will this be the Very Best Thing ever? Will it just be One Big Uck Poo?
Rhinos prefer modest expectations. What a disappointment it would be if it were the Peak Experience of a Lifetime. What would We look forward to?
No, We are generally content with ‘Nice’ or ‘Pretty Good’, and let it go at that.
Of course, the circus is unlikely to show up every day. In the Wild especially. In the Wild, Never is the norm.
For that reason, Rhinos throw our own circuses, whenever We feel the urge. We are mostly both the performance and the audience; that way We know We are pleasing our crowd.
It’s the Greatest Show on Earth! For Rhinos of All Ages!
