After the Witch snags them, Hansel and Gretel experience her hospitality for a month.
Hansel gets stuck in a cage and is fed on pies, cookies, donuts, macaroons, lollipops, bon-bons, and some apples . Gretel must clean house, carry water and firewood, and fatten up Hansel.
Is it any wonder that Gretel eventually goes ballistic?
In the Wild, We rhinos have no names for things or phenomena. We acknowledge them, but do not limit them with words. Why make the effort to contain Being? Definition simply stops Us from seeing or thinking or perceiving.
Talk about odd…
Rhinos are pretty lighthearted about changing direction as We parade through Life. Go this way or that, nobody is likely to notice, muchless mind.
Everyone else is far too busy changing lanes on their own.
Keeping focus on the Moment is not as easy as it sounds, leastwise for Us Rhinos.
There are many temptations. In one ear is the hollering, whining, and static from the Past and in the other are the combined voices of a) Dread and b) Hope and its rosy version of the Future, whenever that might occur.
The Rhino solution is to keep chewing. Chewing solves everything of importance. Ask anybody.
Even-tempered and benign as We generally are, there are things that do set Rhinos off. We are not wired to put up with absolutely Everything. Prior to the ensuing episodes, We try to give fair warning, broadcasting signals to those in the vicinity.
We might try ‘counting to ten’, but as We have said, We can’t count that high.
In crisis, Rhinos seldom remember what number comes after ‘two’.
Rhinos enjoy a change of location now and then. Trying things among the Somewhere Elses of Life.
We make discoveries, encounter other cultures (Rhinoid and otherwise) and observe native customs.
Broadens our Point of View, Travel. Makes Us savvy.
If each Rhino is a work of art, there is an obvious issue; We present a mighty large canvas to deal with. Also, there are the gymnastics involved in applying the color.
Fortunately, Rhinos are almost all ambidextrous.
It isn’t enough to just be Visionary.
When We Rhinos decide to confront the World uninvited, it surprises Us how many ways there are to do it. We make up our minds to kick butt, and then opportunities for Us to ‘fix’ things abound.
Why We feel the need for these purposeless interactions, We cannot say. Faulty wiring?
How We Rhinos arrive at our Noteworthy Thinkings is an almost poetic combination of Logic and Inspiration. In various proportions, depending on the topic of discussion.
We do not blush easily, We Rhinos.
Inklings are elusive and unpredictable. All of a sudden, one will make itself known. Whence they come is hazy. Their whole business is mysterious, because inklings don’t get very specific as a general rule. We are munching along, and Whammo!, an Inkling! Of what?, you might ask. Dunno, say We.
They come in many sizes and flavors, but at a certain point of development they morph into Intimations. Or they go into hiding and We can’t recall what it was We were inkled about.
