In the Wild, sometimes a mistake can be set aside, another chance is miraculously offered. Of course, that is not always the case, but on balance, all critters are remarkably lucky. Rhinos can be grateful for that fact.
But We do not claim any credit for these mercies. It is more than dumb luck, though it has no name. Fortune, for want of a better term?
Rhinos are generally fortunate. Not always, but often.
The Rhino capacity for Astonishment is legendary (among Rhinos, at any rate). Our hours are peppered with Surprises because We expect things to stay put and behave themselves.
They don’t; hence the Astonishment. Moment by moment, We are assaulted with Newness, clad in her many outfits and moods. Out she hops, demanding attention and expanding our horizons.
We Rhinos are happily and perpetually flabbergasted!
Life in the Wild has its adventurous side, to be sure. Surprises are the norm.
Rhinos try to keep a sense of perspective. We just adjust as best We can, or go along for the ride, however bumpy.
There is little point in Amplified Hysterics, no matter what they tell you.
We Rhinos are not accomplished Hoppers. We observe hopping, appreciate hopping, and occasionally yearn for hop-ability. Does this range of responses qualify Us for hopping itself? Apparently not.
Nonetheless, We keep our eye out for Hopscotch Developments. We want to be ready when Nature rings the gong.
That willingness and responsiveness are responsible for Rhino Longevity. We think.
RTots worry that the mere 100 pounds We weigh at birth may be the whole story. Will We always be so puny?
The Good News is that the RAdult is 40 times bigger than the RTot, roughly speaking.
Who wouldn’t be inspired by that revelation?

Each of Us Rhinos is attentive to our affect, though it never centers on simple Appearance. What concerns Us is Who is inside. Fortunately, We are seldom disappointed with the Answer.
Inner Rhinos all look good. Yours & ours too. Fact.
Sometimes Rhinos make a Bad Decision, barely noticing. We blind ourselves to other options. Then off We stumble.
The Bad Decision limits our perception. Finding a downward spiral is no trick at all, though the speed of the descent is unpredictable.
Getting out of a hole seems impossible. It isn’t, but We first have to remove the blindfold.
No matter how placid things may seem at any given moment, Rhinos all acknowledge that Drama is on its way.
Unlike Santa coming on a specific date, Drama shows up in its own good time. And in its own unique style, rhythm, or flavor. Volume up, volume down.
There’s no point in trying to second-guess Drama, so We just relax and greet it as it comes.
The Inner Rhino investigations of where Air comes from take Us to forest and jungly places where there are, by definition, scads of trees. It turns out that trees are not just decorative. They are busy making air which gets circulated around the world by the wind, probably. It is Nature making surprising things happen, which should be no surprise.
We don’t know just how the trees manufacture Air, but perhaps they are none too clear on it either. Maybe they don’t even know what they are accomplishing.
Nonetheless, We’re happy those trees are on the job. It’s a big world out here.
Today is National Meteor Day. Rhinos are surprised by this choice of day since most meteor showers happen in August, but maybe August was already booked.
Meteors are up there all right. Keep your eyes peeled, and duck if any head your way.
