YIR thought it might be a good time to discuss Erosion. Commonly Erosion refers to weathering from water or wind, wearing away the landscape over time.
What We Rhinos think is more controllable is the Erosion caused by Observations, Suggestions, Criticisms, and Wit. What is worn away in this instance is Patience and Self-Esteem.
Although Rhinos have a raucous side to our character, We are mostly extraordinarily Quiet. And with good reason.
In the Wild, there is a lot more to Hear, all told. And the Potential Importance of these Hearings cannot be overestimated.
The information We gather can make the difference between a great afternoon and no afternoon.
In the face of any Experience, each Rhino has options for reactions. The meaning of the word Response-Ability. What shall We make of things?
Whatever We choose to think, Rhinos need to recall that our thoughts are under our control. We Choose our focus, and our interpretation.
So obvious, and yet so easy to forget.
When it comes to Rhinos being Rhinos, One thing We never leave out of the recipe is Sass.
Sass has some negative connotations, We admit. A little too much spin on the ball perhaps. A sense of immunity to Social Conventions. A little goes a long way.
Like it or not, We Rhinos got it, and make the most of it. Stand back.

Then things on Earth have to adjust in quick time. Whether they like it or not.
A little Resignation seems in order here, since there is next to nothing to be done about it.
There is much discussion of Seeing, Smelling, Tasting, Touch, and Hearing. They are all useful capabilities, and Rhinos are glad to have them. Like many other Critters.
But Rhinos are also Sense-itive in a range of other ways, sensing the stars, the details of the Mariana Trench, rainfall in Zimbabwe, salamander pregnancies, and another zillion stimulating things. Crammed together, We refer to them as Sensitivity. They are a Natural Bonanza.
Yes. Rhinos are gifted. And Grateful.
Most Situations have a lurking Lesson somewhere there in the rubble. Rhinos always like to take a good look, in case there’s something To Learn.
Granted, even when We do locate a Lesson, it doesn’t mean We will Learn It.
Rhinos sometimes get distracted and imagine We are Seeing what there is to See, keeping track, adjusting as necessary. We are an observant species, We Rhinos.
But We are inclined to forget that, in the Wild, Rhinos are more Observed than Observing. Critters all around Us, some near, some far, of many sizes, capabilities, and descriptions, are keeping an eye on Us. Just because.
In the Wild, each moment is a study in Fine Tuning oneself to the realities around Us. For other Critters, We are a Reality Seen. They and We are united in one concept: Better Safe than Sorry.
