Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

9-30-universal-me

At the core of the Universe, each one of Us Rhinos is peeking out from our own cosmic orbit, right? We see what appears before Us, and make of it what We can, based on instinct and exposure and experience… and the weather.

If there is another way to perceive, We are unaware of it. We can apply filters, but they are ultimately selected realities, however helpful or comforting. We know We could select another version, whether We choose to or not.

But all said and done, We are in good hands.

Illustrative Gifts

9-18-arackham

Arthur Rackham was born today in 1867. He was renowned for his children’s illustrations in an age of great artists. Soft color glazes and robust line make his work exceptional. And yummy.

Mr. Rackham gave lovely humor and vigor to Fairyland, making it feel familiar. Interest in fairies has to be nurtured, and Mr. Rackham’s efforts did all of that and more.

Rhinos are always surprised that Beliefs come and go, like Fashions. Belief in fairies makes Rhino lives richer, whether We have met any or not.

Never too late…

Grandma Moses (born 9/7, 1860) didn’t start painting until she was 78 years old. Her career wasn’t short though; she lived to be 101. Lots of famous output.

Rhinos seldom get sidetracked along the way. That is because We chew a lot, so We can ponder creative outlets all the time, at the same time.

Rhinos don’t usually live to age 101, We think, so We cram a lot into the time We do get.

Rule Britannia

9-7qbess

Queen Elizabeth I was born in 1533. She was popular, but prickly. She liked things her way, without sass of any kind. A Queen clearly in touch with her Inner Rhino.

We Rhinos are wired pretty much the same way, right?

Bess (as she was called by her best pals) also liked to gad about in plenty of finery. Rhinos do that too, albeit on a theoretical level.
