Self-sufficiency is dandy, and necessary for all functioning Rhinos. However, from time to time one of Us will disconnect from Common Sense, neglecting the calls of Kin and Nature.
We delight in whimsical eccentricities, but untempered, they can become ridiculous.
No. Rhinos are not obstinate. We are decisive, which is a whole other business entirely. Ask Anybody.
Rhinos need to go to where the plants are if We want dinner. We do, so off We set.
Some people think plants are stationary, but that’s not entirely so. Give them a while and only Nature knows where they have migrated. Plants do not amble, it’s true, but they get around, all the same.
Then We go find them and gobble them up.
A Rhino Rule of Relativity is: The more beautifully wrapped the Unsolicited Advice is, the less likely the Recipient is to want it.
One thing about ruts is, We make them for ourselves. Like it or not, here We are, not only wearing a trench in the universe, but resigned to it.
Every life has patterns that repeat. But prancing works just as well as plodding for getting from one part of wherever to another.
The trick is reminding oneself to skip.
Trying to be Good is not easy, especially when it comes to Sharing. We like it when somebody shares with Us, but sharing in the other direction is a Challenge.
Sometimes We are successful with Sharing, but that is better than Never, right?
Maybe if they made pies a lot bigger, Sharing would be easier.
Whatever Rhinos may lack, it is not Determination. Clear or unclear about our path, each of Us is out there chugging forward.
We do not see ourselves as independent of our kind. Rather, We know ourselves as representatives of a Noble Family, each adding to the dynamic of the whole. With that in mind, We cannot fail, whatever the outcome of a particular situation. Situations are trifling; RhinoHeart is downright Cosmic.
We all like to be the Best One, but We do have to face the music now and then and play Second Fiddle to somebody else, Rhino or not. It is not always welcome as a position, but We do get better harmony out of it, longterm. That is the popular theory. We have been told.
So now you know that Rhinos do know how to be Good. That doesn’t mean We prefer 2nd Place however. We don’t.
Not every thought Rhinos have is in Technicolor. Some are a bit less defined or dynamic. Just how they come. No harm, no foul.
