Chipping away

1-14-16 Expression
Artists express themselves in so many ways; with paint, or stone or music or a basketball- an endless series of opportunities to translate their unique poetry into motion. Some forms last, others do not.

Ultimately, the expression echoes some particular aspect of its source.

We Rhinos take it upon ourselves to investigate and respond to artists’ efforts to engage the planet.

Somebody has to do it.

Insecurities

1-12 Buttressed

Sometimes We Rhinos are prey to Vague Dread. At such times, each of Us creates a little psychic Hideaway in which to fuss about our predicaments.

Occasionally We stew away in isolation for hours… until We get hungry.

More often, the fun of imagining the Hideaway is so absorbing, We forget why We bothered to hide in the first place.

So the idea is, there’s each of Us and then there’s Everything that isn’t each of Us. We each look around, and comprehend what We can of what We see and hear and Smell, out there in the not Us. We try to organize that incoming data with the Us of Us, who We each are at the time.

The real Inner Rhino Regulator in the discussion is each of Us, using whatever common sense We can locate.

Another Good News, Bad News situation.

Know What?

1-8-16 Knowledge

One relief that Seniority offers is the understanding that We Rhinos will never know it all. We have passed the point when willfulness passes for knowledge.

Then We take things as they come, offering suggestions if asked, but realizing that We could just as easily be wrong as right.

Makes Us feel younger every day.

12-30 Me, my way

Rhinos don’t allow other critters (or relatives) to determine the pulse and direction of our daily dance steps or state of mind. We each do our Rhino thing. With gusto.  What sensible Rhino would let somebody else control the Happiness Button? Really.

Feeling Good is a Rhino responsibility, each of Us for each of Us every day.

Cha cha cha.

Beyond a doubt…

Gift horses  have a checkered reputation for delivering unwelcome surprises. This phenomenon dovetails well with the natural Rhino inclination to ponder things that appear too good to be true. We have seldom regretted serious evaluation prior to involvement.

The loss of the opportunity is not the issue, so much as the repercussions of the move in haste.

If We be stodgy, so be it.
