Artisticalitudes

CeltPin vert title

For Us, all art forms have a theoretical component. We don’t own things or make things. But We do appreciate Thing-ish ideas, mostly from a distance. We are familiar with many human cultures and aesthetics. After all, We were there for the development of most of them. Lots of ways to imagine things.

Here is a sample brooch design, celebrating the Rhino ability to move in many directions at once.

With flair.

Triumph of the Undone

4-29 FancyFree

Procrastination has its merits, one of which is not plunging ahead on projects which might, or might not, produce something desirable. Often an idea pops up, and We can take it more seriously than it warrants. We then get into a quagmire of activity which is destined for oblivion or disappointment.

Procrastination has many virtues, but the primary one is that while We blithely wiggle along, We are as likely as not to completely forget about the brilliant insight We cherished for a moment.

Thus We spend our time in a happy mental state, unfettered by a self-delusional involvement with Purpose.

Who are We to decide what truly matters or not? Guides know, We opine.

Slithering

4-15 SR slithering

Here you see (sort of) the happy Sumatran Rhino, attending to business in the lush and convoluted jungle called Home. This difficult and overgrown habitat is what keeps Us going. It’s very hard to find Us, or more importantly, catch Us.

We make paths for ourselves through the underbrush, leaving scent markers for one another as We go. We like to keep abreast of family news, but We find it safest to scoot solo.

We are gifted Skippers.

Free Wheeling

Cartwheel

Some days, hurling yourself around out there seems like a fine solution, no matter what the provocation. We gotta do what We gotta do, right?

We Rhinos don’t actually have to perform a cartwheel to grasp the exhilaration of it; We live in a state of constant exhilaration already. We just focus that thrill factor onto the cartwheel format, and Voila!

Big Fun

3-31Crayola!

Today is Crayola Crayon Day! Good times, coming and going. We don’t actually own any crayons, but the adventure they provide is undeniable. Self-expression in a zillion colors, with a sharpener.

They do not taste as good as they smell.

One big thing We know: they melt if you leave them in the sun.
