Grimm Confrontationalities

2-26 Redhanded

Hansel and Gretel face heavy odds. Unfortunately, the Witch is more powerful than they, and grasps their points of weakness.

Ah, Generational Strife. We Rhinos understand this opposition; young Rhinos need to keep on the good side of bigger Rhinos. Older Rhinos discourage flippancy among the young, sometimes with cataclysmic results.

We must face it: Hansel and Gretel is packed with tension and psychological complexity; it’s exhausting. Only Your Inner Rhino would undertake a study so demanding.

Grimms, appreciated

2-25 Nibbling

Hansel and Gretel is power-packed with highlight moments, of which one has to be the discovery of the Gingerbread House. Hansel and Gretel do their very best to polish it off.

A feature of this tale is that the reader does not need to be hungry at all to understand the children’s fervor. All critters know what it is to go crazy in the face of Temptation.

Nibble, nibble, little mouse,                                                                                                                               Who is gobbling up my house?

Grimm Explicated

2-24 H&G lost

Hansel and Gretel’s #1 problem is, they are starving. In the Wild, sometimes there just are no roots and berries, nor anything else. It impairs any critter’s judgment. Even ours.

Rhinos never get lost in the woods, or anywhere, because 1) We can smell our way back to basecamp, and 2) We don’t fret much about where We are headed anyway. If We had breadcrumbs, We’d eat them. Duh.

Supposing Hansel and Gretel were Rhinos, they would have to be cousins or pals. By the time a sibling shows up, like 3 years, the difference in age is prohibitive to getting into trouble together. Rhino foolishness is age-specific.

Your Inner Rhino, unexpected lessons lurking, with more to come. You’re welcome.

Orders of Business

2-10 Unlisted

We Rhinos like to celebrate our relationship with Nature. Seriously, what is the other choice?

Things that always entertain Nature are agendas and schemes and order. Make a list, and see what happens; count to two and you are off doing something else, distracted. That’s how lists work, here to show Us that We are crazy.

Can’t have too many reminders of that, right?

Now and Then

2-9 Now v X
Keeping focus on the Moment is not as easy as it sounds, leastwise for Us Rhinos.

There are many temptations. In one ear is the hollering, whining, and static from the Past and in the other are the combined voices of a) Dread and b) Hope and its rosy version of the Future, whenever that might occur.

The Rhino solution is to keep chewing. Chewing solves everything of importance. Ask anybody.

Omens & Vibrations

2-6 toTen

Even-tempered and benign as We generally are, there are things that do set Rhinos off. We are not wired to put up with absolutely Everything. Prior to the ensuing episodes, We try to give fair warning, broadcasting signals to those in the vicinity.

We might try ‘counting to ten’, but as We have said, We can’t count that high.

In crisis, Rhinos seldom remember what number comes after ‘two’.

Vary Careful Listening

1-31 Rockettes

Not every Rhino can communicate with Rocks. Rocks give off vibrations, which is how they make their thoughts available. Not every Rhino has the patience to get the message.

RhinoRockReaders say that Rocks are most interested in their own mass; are they getting bigger or smaller, working their way to pebbleness or bolderhood? We are told that Rocks do not care which direction is their trend, but they do ponder.

One thing with Rocks, they are seldom in a hurry.
