Holding their attention

Effective speech involves emphasis, making specific points on specific issues, raising the voice or bellowing. There are plenty of other refinements, like the pregnant pause, but they suggest themselves with experience.

Emphasize what’s necessary, and sometimes tell a story wherein the caution has been ignored. Those tales should end with colorful mishaps, just as a keepsake of the original discussion.

A Rhino does not need to rant, but sometimes it feels good, just to clear the air… or clear the auditorium.
