Knock, Knock

And so, We Rhinos approach 2022. We have everything We need, We think, but you know how that goes. We may have forgotten the special de-coder ring…? It’ll be something like that.

We hail ourselves today as well as everybody else. 2021 sort of got thrashed, doubtless through no fault of its own. But in hours, it’ll be history. Ba-Bye.

We don’t pretend to know what’s “Next”. Whatever is going on when We arrive, We’ll be scouting out the hors doeuvres.

The meter kicks over

Rhinos respect our past and profit every day from the efforts and model of our forebearers, all gazillion of them.

Are We curious about what’s coming? Absolutely. But among all the Rhinos ever, nobody has figured out how to predict the future. So We fantasize.

A Roll of the Dice is as good a means as any. We do not put our faith in it, but We imagine peeping around the corner for a preview. FYI, Rhino dice are not like your dice. We only count to three, so We put our numbers on each die twice. It changes the rules of the game, but the rules made no sense to Us in the first place.

Summing Up for ’21

Times up! 2021 is almost done, and We Rhinos like to look back to assess ourselves. Overall, We are still pretty marvelous. After all, it is our own view of Rhino Matters that comes first and foremost.

But every Rhino has moments during the year when We don’t meet our own standards. Errors sometimes nag on and on. We need to confront Regret, like any other critter.

But Regrets can be instructive. Rhinos can always be better, singly and collectively. It’s called R Education.

Yule Congratulations

Nursery rhymes often address dubious activities. The young explore ways to engage with circumstances, usually flouting a bunch of rules.

If this poem has a moral, it is beyond Rhino logic. In its favor, it involves a plum and a pie.

One thing Rhinos do not often confront is Corners in the Wild. We have few walls, which are a key ingredient for corners. For Rhinos, corners create misgivings. “Proceed with caution, Mr. Horner.”

At Last!!

Today is National Fruitcake Day , which probably has you skipping hither and thither!

Rhinos like Fruitcake and study recipes. The Rhino system of baked goods is to 1) Find a fruitcake and eat it, or 2) Gather all the ingredients, and gobble them up, right away, where possible. It saves many labor intensive steps, employing utensils Rhinos don’t have. Probably the most important ingredient is Patience, which We are not known for.

In the WIld Rhinos own nothing. Still, We have our imaginations, which cover most of our culinary needs. Delicious.
