In Dreamland

Rhinos are semi-consistently of the Opinion that dreams in Black-and-White are a certain sign of one thing or another which may require close attention.

These dreams do not demand hysterics, but nonetheless, a word to the wise should be heeded, when feasible.

Right?

Moooody

Moping about and feeling despondent is unusual for Us Rhinos. Not that it Never Happens, but the sense of achievement associated with sulking is modest.

We recommend more sleep and more chewing; those activities can improve almost any situation.

In Days of Yore

Of course, Rhinos have Mythic Tales of our many adventures, many of them pretty fancy. Mind you, these events happened a while ago, in uncharted waters. And lands too.

We are reminded of Heraclitus the Paradoxographer, a 1st century Greek, who studied ancient myths, trying to determine if they were so? If the creatures depicted really lived? He often seemed doubtful, and provided alternative circumstances, explaining the mix-ups. Feet on the ground, and snide about it.

Rhinos mostly think of Paradoxographers as Master Party Poopers. Honestly!

Slurp

Today we all celebrate Mr. Frank Epperson’s invention of the Cherry Popsicle. He created his first popsicle in 1905 at the age of 11. He later patented his discovery in 1924, successfully.

So everybody’s happy, which is certainly worth mentioning.

Mindset

Rhinos have plenty of time to ruminate. While We chew. Inside Us there are all sorts of repositories for thoughts and ideas, concepts and impressions. You might think We come up with all that on our own. To some extent, We do.

However, many of the basic ideas We store are ancient, millenia old. Some ancient Wisdom is Powerful and Influential in complex ways. Sometimes, We have to slow down a bit and recalibrate the importance of one mental source, versus another. Being old doesn’t mean this thought is better than that.

We have to chew our ideas over. Old ideas, new ideas. Each has its merits, but what to do today?

Tink R Bell

Today is Tooth Fairy Day (TFD part 2 is February 28 for some reason.) Rhino childhood is so crammed with events, that We are never certain if We get baby teeth or not. Maybe? At any rate, We certainly have adult teeth, in almost perpetual motion, chomping greenery.

Rhinos compare notes on how many wings it takes to get one of Us airborne, but the answer is always ‘a big bunch’. Two tons of fluttering Fairy.

Rhinos love to chew over Random Possibilities.

Scanning backward

Rhinos have many Memories available to Us. We can ponder prior experience, consider furture enterprise, and flavor the whole business with Rhino Bias and wishful thinking. We are well aware that our Memories are each busy reconstructing themselves in their lairs. In many cases We are complicit in realigning our ideas to suit our vanity, but also our insecurities. Recall is not like viewing a documentary, by any means. Add Emotion and observe the chaos.

We Rhinos have a great deal on our minds.
