Navigations

We Rhinos see little distinction between plotting a journey, and trying to figure out what’s going on in our heads. There are a few obvious differences, but what is more to the point, as We see it, is that we are constantly in touch with all the junk in our minds. The junk serves as a filter, predetermining what We see and how We see it. Also Why.

What to do about this startling observation? Wish one another Good Luck.

Periodic Inspiration

The moon is full, and all Rhinos are sensitive to the influence it exerts on Us. We view the Full Moon on our own terms, as you Readers see it on yours.

The light the moon sheds is unlke any other. And We Rhinos don’t waste time analyzing it; We bathe in it, mesmerized.

And Rhinos are grateful for it… weather allowing.

Multitasking

Torn between worthy subjects, We are asking these topics to share today’s post.

1) National Self Employment Day. It must be self-evident that Rhinos do not engage in any business beyond doing what We can to greet Tomorrow. We eat and eat more. Thus We are employed.

2) National Weather Watchers Day. When you live in the Wild, as We do, the weather is apparent. The weather lets Rhinos know in plenty of time what’s about to lurch over the horizon. An Eternal Question: how ready can Rhinos get?

Taking Advantage

We Rhinos don’t do well with Bullies of whatever pedigree. We snort, We stamp our feet, We call them out on Outrageous Behavior. Whether a playground thug or a prestiged Popinjay, We tell it like We see it.

We seethe with Riteous Indignation.

And We Rhinos are pretty good Seethers.

Essential Old Friends

This is National Mother Goose Day, and a good thing, too. R Tots are raised with something similar to Mother Goose, things that rhyme and feel jolly and make very little sense. These poems and tales are short and sweet and silly, and do not tax the young R mind too much.

What is invigorating is that the spirit of Mother Goose unites all critters at a basic level, a sense of empowerment when We know We have no power whatever. Tot-hood is a delightful time on one hand, and on the other, a skipping nightmare. We understand nothing, and keep our fingers crossed that “Georgie, Porgie, Pudding and Pie” will do the trick in moments of stress.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A formula of analysis which ushers us into adulthood, never making sense. So in that way, it is a big help since adulthood is as confusing for the adult as the tot.

HAIR

Today has been National Hairstylist Appreciation Day, or as We think of these artists, Hair-Doers. Each Rhino has preferences, and many ideas about realizing these headline confections. We mull over many alternatives before reaching a conclusion, reaching for the stars.

This may be a major reason why there are virtually no Hair-Doers in the Wild. All critters have some sort of vanity, some self-image to which We strive, Rhinos no less that any other critter. But We have a foolproof system for achieving these wonders. We skip the combing part, and just imagine the whole business, first to last. With our system, nothing ever goes wrong.

A rare and happy hair-do That is!

Happy Thought

Today has been National Sense of Smell Day, but We got so wrapped up in sniffing and giggling and the Rhino brouhaha attached to the event, that We fell a bit behind reminding you Readers.

We would feel pretty small if it were not for the fact that EVERY DAY is Sense of Smell Day, right?! Right. How else would anybody know what was going on, and the sense of fulfillment a good inhalation can deliver?

EVERY DAY. Yup. Nature does it again!

Circumspection

No two Rhinos are identical. We may be indistinguishable to you, but We each have specific features, temperaments, likes and dislikes. These traits are carried to each Rhino by our parents, combining and recombining in amazing ways.

Many Rhinos don’t get the special genes that promote Prudence, the ability to calmly analyze a situation or critter, weighing one likely development versus another. We use experience, also an array of other clues, cues, and views. And We then proceed with the particular situation, as We see it.

Perhaps it sounds like fun. We are informed that many Rhinos with the gift see it as a dismaying and aggravating responsibility.
