  1. In brief: The song “Rosie the Riveter” was composed in 1942, as WW2 ramped up. The song celebrated women’s contribution to the industrial war effort, in many instances replacing men who were overseas. J. Howard Miller’s poster is actually called “We Can Do It!”, done for Westinghouse. Seemed like a good day to recall this iconic image.
