Today has been Newspaper Carrier Day, and We Rhinos salute Mr. Barney Flaherty, the first N.Y. street vendor hired to sell the paper; one penny was the price. Mr. Flaherty was Irish and was 10 years old.
The New York Sun was geared toward working people, and covered serious topics which no other paper had bothered with. It had a long and illustrious history, as newspapers go.
New York itself was different from today, but then, so are We Rhinos.
