Fascinatin’ Rhythm

Rhinos are often shocked at how the Holiday Season affects Us. The cumulative sense of mania takes over, and We find ourselves, once again, impelled to do the Tantrumella, heaving ourselves hither and yon, wiggling like Wild Animals. Which We are.

By September, We have gotten some control over our limbs, etc., which is all very well. However, We can feel the Holidays a-brewing in our bones.

That is the price of Rhino Dynamism, but what can We do??

In the nick of Time

Time is the invisible stuff between then and now and soon. Also during them.

Rhino Time Ideas usually calibrate the amount of time to do something, and then We guess the Time before a next event. Rhinos all quasi-understand Time in its assorted dimensions. Usually.

Rhinos have had ages to deal with Time, but We confess We have not gotten far. The upshot of our studies is comforting in its lack of genuine comprehension. So We have come up with many systems and gauges, which validate our work, believe it or not. The core question remains elusive.

Maybe Time is the abbreviated version of Sometime, but nobody recalls if/when that became the norm. As far as Rhinos can see, Sometime fulfills most of our wants, which is our main concern.

Dancing in the Dark

Tonight is the New Moon. It is not easy to tell, because the moon is not visible. That is because the earth is in the way of the sunlight which makes the moon shine. Who knew? Sort of a ‘not-eclipse’, more or less.

Rhinos get so involved in our many mental gymnastics and enthusiasms that this sort of phenomenon can get lost in the shuffle for millions of years, or a great many times at any rate. Or We figure it out and then overlook it for a while and then discover it all over again.

These neo-realizations are typical of Very Old Families, of which Rhinos are a fine example.

Regarding Edgar Alan Poe

193 years ago (1831) Mr. Poe was drummed out of West Point on charges of neglect of duty and disobeying orders. Clearly the authorities at West Point were displeased.

Rhinos are not passing any sort of judgment on the case; some researchers feel that Poe had purposely triggered his own dismissal. He did poorly in his mathematics studies, and We Rhinos can sympathize, given our ‘shortcomings’ in that area.

It is hard to understand how someone whose literary talents are so revered failed, but We were not there, and know as little as most biographers seem to do about the case. It may be that the loss to the Military released a treasure to Posterity.

Balloooooooning

One indispensable basic technique at which Rhinos excel is Deep Breathing. We take in a bushel of air, send it where it’s needed, and sort the information which this air embodies. It’s not so taxing, since We do it all the time.

Rhinos often compare ourselves to balloons. We know just how balloons must feel, stuffed to the max with Air. We don’t need to know a lot about air, since it’s never exactly the same, one gasp to the next. We do understand how much vitality it packs, how energizing it feels.

Very satisfying, We must say.

For the Birds

Today still is, albeit not for long, National Bird Day 2024. Rhinos are almost all bird enthusiasts, and We hail their accomplishments, virtually daily. They have quite a repertoire of talents.

Rhinos do not fly on our own, but then, not all birds can fly either. Ostiches, Kiwis, and Penguins are gifted, but do not fly. Other differences between Rhinos and Birds are feathers, and laying eggs. Still appreciation and imitation are not the same thing. We know our R. Limitations, yet few birds have ever had the insight to mimic Us. Ah well, perhaps in time they will come to their senses.

Or, in time, Rhinos will sprout feathers and take wing. We can only hope.

Welcoming 2024

We Rhinos come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, home turfs, and individual distinctions. We are conscious of opportunities to improve our performance, and learn from our experience, in a timely manner.

Thank you all for your attention to ‘Your Inner Rhino’. And away We go!
