Nighttime

Tonight is the New Moon, the opposite of the Full Moon. No Light versus Lots of Light.

Light makes it much easier to see, as You know. Rhinos often navigate by scent, so We can function after nightfall. Still, it’s mighty dark; We move around slower.

Darkness is used as a metaphor for the inability to see. Sunlight is great, but it doesn’t prove that NOW We see things clearly. Rhinos see what We allow ourselves to see. Night and Day.

(Rhinos do not actually have flashlights, but without one, this picture would be invisible.)

Rockabye, Baby!

Thursdays are good days for Rhinos to go off our Rockers. This is particularly true since We have no idea what day it is…ever. If We propel off the Rocker, We assume it’s Thursday.

You might be aware that there are very few Rockers in the Wild, furniture that is. But, as with many such challenges, Rhinos make the best of things, and fill in any gaps with Imagination.

Rhinos may not have Rockers, but Imagination? Wow!

Time, the Playmate

All Rhinos are aware that Now is different from Then. It would be peculiar if We weren’t. Yet these states of awareness are inseparable. We have the “I must blow my nose now” physical presence, and the two complimentary siblings, “Was” and “To Be”. Together, they mold our mental gymnastics.

If this way of thinking makes Us different from other Critters, Rhinos would be surprised. But We are used to surprises, whether We like them or not.

We live in an Age of Contrasts and Astonishments.

HappyDays

They say that ‘Ignorance is Bliss’. Rhinos have no way for proving or disproving this theory. We are certainly a contented family, We Rhinos. We have our differences, our small tensions. But We do not doubt one another regarding Good Will.

So perhaps our Rhino Ignorance is working in our favor. We are as Nature made Us, and that’s dandy by Us.

The Vagabond, vagabonding

Our Rhino days are filled with minor events, some of them colorful, others tasty. Whatever the nature of the thrill may be, We press onward.

And all too soon We arrive at the end of today. It’s an exciting moment; We have used today all up, and nervously giggle about the day to come. We teeter on the brink.

Scary but stimulating. Things usually work out so fine that We barely recall yesterday.

Disobedience

Disregarding the Rules is often a lot of fun. We get to express our more effervescent aspects in a delightfully uncontrolled way. We rollick.

There is, however, a Consequence. We are given an opportunity to reconsider our behavior.

That part seems to miss the point.

Who’s doing What?

Who gets Where first? It is not easy to know. Maybe the Snail has already come by and has now moved on. What do We know? Snails are not boastful. Or even chatty.

Thanks to Nature, most matters don’t need Rhinos to organize things. Or understand them. Perhaps that is what Snails are up to. And welcome to it.

ADJECTIVES

Of the many things Rhinos are called on an average day, We like “STOLID” the best. It means calm, imperturbable, stoic, humorless, inscrutable, detached and taciturn, etc., etc. So there We are in a nutshell. Seems just about right, if observed with a forgiving eye. Another word is “Delightful”.

There are many other qualities Rhinos embody, but the Labelers are so busy juggling words, there is no time to inform them. It is hard to take up another task when one is busy, We understand.

It’s all about the same to Us anyway. We are not a word; Rhinos are an Experience.
