Wandering, Big Time

Rhinos appreciate and praise the accomplishments of Mapmakers. Maps demonstrate the learning and insights these Mapmakers apply to their efforts. Maps explain WHERE things are or were.

Rhinos are not gifted as Mapmakers, nor as Map followers. We like to go wherever We want to, until We get to a body of water. Then We divert ourselves and go along to someplace else. How can We lose? We were never going anywhere in particular anyway.

There are those Rhinos who enjoy explaining Maps (see below), but those lectures usually take place when the rest of Us are occupied. A pity, really.

Questions, Questions

We Rhinos assume that most Questions have answers, and maybe there is some place to find out what’s What, or was What, or will be What. Frankly, no matter how hard We look, We find the answer is pretty dull stuff.

The excitement comes when We pose a Question, and are told to go away. The answer is not forthcoming, certainly not from that source.

Makes it sound pretty gripping, but honestly, We wouldn’t bet on it.

Anticipation

We Rhinos almost always know that Rain is on its way. Still, We feel that an inspirational Rain Dance may bring the rain sooner, so We make the effort. We love Rain.

It smells so good! And it sounds so wet!

Hard to beat Rain.

Quack!

Mr. Abraham Lincoln was President of the United States, and had a number of down-to-earth things to say about one topic and another, a well-known sample of which is here provided.

Mr. Lincoln was raised in the country, and it seems to have done him a world of good. Who would know better than We Rhinos?

We blush at the answer to the question.

Speaking of When…

‘X’ may mark the Spot; We Rhinos would not bother to argue the point. But what We are forced to consider is When it marks the Spot. Is this Spot ancient or recent or yet to deliver its treasure? We seriously doubt that any message delivered by this system was ever intended for a Rhino. It is too mysterious and intricate for Rhino Minds to fathom (or bother with).

But We are not quitters, We Rhinos. So, We have to stare at the X, that Spot, to see if it will cough up something We can appreciate, or relay to someone who’d know what to do with it.

So many things to consider, not the least of which involves Timing. Are We too soon, too late, or just in the nick of Time? Maybe if Rhinos could tell time, We would be more useful.

Mysterious Markings

The problem in the Wild is not finding X Marks. They are scattered far and wide if Rhinos keep our eyes peeled. In fact, they seem to appear wherever We wander.

The problem for Us is that We have no way of knowing what they mean, what they are designed to signal to Rhino Awareness. If ‘X marks the Spot’, what should We do when We see one or more?

Frustrating situation, to tell the truth.
