Yesterday was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s birthday (1859). The author is best known today for his detective, Mr. Sherlock Holmes. In both short works and novels, Holmes suspected his way through foggy Victorian London, employing his genius in the apprehension of villains, often assisted by Dr. John Watson (also fictitious).
Now for the Mystery! Mr. Conan Doyle’s birthday was yesterday, but We Rhinos didn’t remember until Very Late. We apologize, but We were at fault, which We only admit with gritted teeth. We can’t pretend We meant to be negligent. Whatever We meant, always a good question, We botched it.
Oddly enough, there are those who claim Holme’s birthday is January 6. Rhinos don’t pretend to know our readers’ customs, but are fictional characters born? Especially as the author never detailed the event? Very Mysterious, is what We Rhinos think; just one more thing We don’t quite grasp.
