On your mind, or off

We Rhinos have never been certain about who the “he” is, referred to in this quote of Mr. Heine’s. He lived about 200 years ago, so We may never know.

But in a blinding moment of insight, it occurred to Us that Heine was referring to his alter-ego, his interior Self. He knows he is only partially aware most of the time, dotted with moments of insight. Heine’s Inner Rhino saves the day! (We surmise.)

That idea may let Us see how Mr. Heine functioned, and makes his writing more clear. Right? It’s hard to play Solitaire without a full deck. Who would know bettter than We do?
