Lest We forget…

On June 29, 1613 the Globe Playhouse went up in smoke. A sound effect for the production required a cannon, but a spark got loose, and within an hour or so, there was a heap of ash and rubble where the theatre had been.

On the happy side, nobody was hurt. However, one audience member’s pants caught on fire. He was saved by a local who doused the flames with beer.

There’s no business like show business!
